Straight 4s. Pint was right down the fairway. Irish coffee was also delicious.

Punching way above its class for an airport Guinness. Was legit shocked when I saw how good it looked. Maybe I was thirty. Maybe I was just going in with low expectations but this was a delicious pint.

One of the best pints in Philly. I have to ding a tenth of a point for a non branded glass but they take care for the pours.

This might be the worst picture I’ve ever taken of a pint of Guinness. However bad the appearance of the pint was it definitely wasn’t the worst I’ve ever had. This is more of a neighborhood dive bar than an Irish pub. But I like the vibe.

This was objectively by any measure of the worst Guinness I’ve ever had. The appearance wasn’t terrible besides being served in a non-Guinness glass. But the taste was reminiscent of vomit. Absolutely putrid.

So I came in with low expectations. Place is right on the River Walk, packed with tourists. But Ian was pulling the pints and had a couple of great pints.

Not a bad pint. This was at the basement bar off the river. Smaller 16oz glass.

Well, I’m disappointed that this pint had to be my 250th review. This was the most average pint I think I’ve ever had. 2.5 across the board. It was drinkable but wouldn’t order another. What’s to be expected from a southside Chicago pizza place?

This was a serviceable pint. It was entirely too cold, but was decently creamy but the cold really affected the mouth feel and taste. I wouldn’t necessarily seek this place out.

I had high hopes but they served this as cold as dry ice. Don’t come here specifically for Guinness

Pints were good. Was packed on a Sunday night. Massive open patio area.

We came here for one reason: they were open late for the Super Bowl. The place was absolutely packed, so fair play to them. Pints were OK, being generous. You do not come here for a top-tier Guinness. You come for the screens.

Another solid pint just a three minute walk from Kilmainham Gaol. Creamy head, clean glass, smooth roast and perfect temperature. No theatrics, just a properly kept Guinness in a proper Dublin local. Easy stop after a history fix.

One of the best pints of my life in the most unassuming setting near Kilmainham Gaol. The Glen of Aherlow looks untouched since 1984 and that is exactly its magic. Pure old-school Dublin. Creamy, balanced, flawless. A true 5/5 pint.

I’ve been to the Palace Bar countless times yet always forget to review it. Consistently one of the finest pints in Dublin, set in one of the city’s most beautiful pubs—plus a house stout that’s well worth trying.

Just had one of the best pints I’ve ever had and certainly the best in Sligo. Marion at Earley’s is a national treasure and her Guinness should be legally protected. This is what people mean when they talk about a proper pint.

A creamy pint overlooking Strandhill Beach, and honestly the setting is doing half the work. Dark, creamy, and settled just right, with the Atlantic rolling quietly in the background. Easy to drink, hard to rush, and gone far too quickly.

Hotel bar pint. The end.

Finished the night at Thomas Connolly’s with a gorgeous harp-led trad session. Beautiful Guinness, beautiful music, and the kind of calm that only comes at the right hour. A perfect way to close the book on the night.

Furey’s was lively—DJ spinning Motown and a crowd clearly enjoying itself. Not quite my scene. Guinness was fine but carried a bit too much head. One and done.

Foley’s Bar hits a sweet spot. A few gents playing classics—John Denver included—setting the tone just right. Pints were comfortably above average and easy to settle into.

McLynn’s absolutely delivered. An amazing trad session filling the room and pints poured right alongside it. On point Guinness, great energy, and the kind of place where you lose track of time—in a good way.

The Harp Tavern. Nice pint. Low price. No notes.

Lunch pint at Swagman Bar. Serviceable Guinness, nothing to complain about. But in Ireland, “ok” still means bottom half.

Had a pint at JJ O’Malley’s. It was ok—perfectly drinkable. But with Westport’s standards, this wouldn’t be my pint destination.

A few incredible pints at Blouser’s. Cash only, coal fire roaring, and Guinness poured like it’s a sacred duty. One of the best pints I’ve ever had. Absolute magic.

Had a pint at The Cobbler. Guinness was ok—did its job. Just wasn’t feeling the vibe, so one was enough.

A few gorgeous pints at Matt Molloy’s in Westport, capped off by meeting the gentleman himself. The Guinness was flawless—calm, creamy, and quietly confident. As perfect as the man behind the bar. Some places really do live up to the legend.

At A File—the Poet in Irish. The Guinness speaks in prose, not poetry. Perfectly ok, but not why you come here. The food, however, is absolute verse.

Another pint down at Walsh’s, Westport. Absolutely on point—clean, creamy, and poured with intent. Damn near perfect, exactly how an Irish pint should be.

A few pints at The Brewery in Westport. Not convinced they brew anything here—but the Guinness was good. Perfectly drinkable, no issues, no drama. Sometimes that’s enough.

Finished at Lofty’s with one of the best Guinness I’ve ever had. Perfect pour, perfect settle. Lofty’s a musician, and it shows—this pint has rhythm, timing, and soul.

First pint in Westport at Danny’s. No idea who Danny is, but he’s doing the Lord’s work. Near-perfect Guinness—creamy, calm, confident. Oh Danny boy, the pints, the pints are calling… and I answered.

Guinness at Jordan’s is elite. Great pour, great room, and a fire doing MVP-level work. On a cold, wet night, this place closes it out properly.

I absolutely love the tankard. Great traditional pub. Coal fire. Brilliant.

A few pints and a good meal at Geoff’s. Nice Guinness, comfortable room, no complaints. Sometimes that’s all you need.

Had a gorgeous pint at the Mansion House in Waterford. Beautifully poured, easy drinking, and gone far too quickly. Great locals, proper atmosphere—exactly how a pub should feel. A place you’re glad you wandered into.

Phil Grimes delivers an incredible pint of Guinness. Perfectly poured, beautifully balanced, and clearly taken seriously. Tom, the owner, is an absolute national treasure and it shows in the place. One of the very best pints in Waterford. No debate.

Had a Guinness at the House of Waterford, served in a €100 Waterford Crystal pint glass. Ridiculous? Absolutely. Worth it? Shockingly, yes. The pint was damn good—clean, creamy, and somehow tasting better because it knew it was being watched.

Lunch and a pint at The Reg, Waterford. The Guinness was fine. Perfectly acceptable. The seafood chowder, however, showed up ready to headline. Sometimes the pint is just there to support greatness.

This was the only open place to get a pint before noon, near the hotel. Pleasantly surprised. It’s mainly a cafe so this punches above its weight.

Blue Bar delivers a textbook Guinness—quietly, confidently, without theatrics. The pour is patient, the head is tight and persistent, and the pint stays creamy deep into the glass. This feels like a pub where nothing is rushed, even late in the night

The Hibernian Bar pours a suitable pint of Guinness. Not a destination pour, but more than respectable—especially for a hotel bar. Gorgeous room, live music doing heavy lifting, and a pint that behaves itself.

Nice pint at O’Riada. Well poured, easy drinking, good room. No drama, no gimmicks—just a pub doing its job well.

Guinness at Cleere’s: very good. Trad music humming, fire crackling, stress evaporating. This is why people come to Ireland and refuse to leave.

Syd Harkin’s pours a very solid Guinness. Creamy, balanced, and easy to enjoy without thinking too hard about it. Not the best pint in Kilkenny—but comfortably in the “would happily order another” tier. A respectable showing.

Guinness at The Pumphouse: flawless. Tight head, perfect settle, zero complaints. Best pint in Kilkenny so far. The rest are playing for second place.

Guinness at Matt the Miller: aggressively fine. Not bad enough to complain, not good enough to remember. The kind of pint you drink while thinking about better pints you’ve had elsewhere. A real “that’ll do” situation.

Guinness + Bad, Bad Leroy Brown. Black as sin, creamy as hell, and carrying itself like the baddest pint in the whole damn pub. If pints could walk, this one wouldn’t say sorry.

Flying Saucer locations are primarily known for having a ton of draft beer, so I was skeptical that the Guinness would be decent, but was surprised to see it served in a proper Guinness glass. It was a touch too cold but enjoyable.

I absolutely love this pub. They had a trad session here on Sunday night that was wonderful. But they keep serving in dirty, wet glasses. Otherwise pints would be top notch. Gorgeous pub and vibes but pints could look better.

Last pint in Wales before I get on the train. This was complimentary from the hotel, but still an enjoyable pint. Clean glass, good pour, nice taste.

I’m giving this a 4.0 because the view is beautiful. After a 6 flight stair climb with a stop for oxygen, you’re greeted by a wonderfully decorated cocktail bar and restaurant. Obviously you don’t come here for the Guinness, but it’s not terrible.

Girl behind the car took a sopping wet glass and filled it with Guinness. It was technically a two part pour with about 10 seconds of rest as that’s what it took to pour my wife’s Peroni. Just a middling pint all around. Don’t come here for Guinness.

Another pint that punches above its initial appearance. This was pour from two kegs - the old “two part pour”. First keg was tapped and he finished off a new one. Not a lot of dome but super creamy and delicious.

First pint was ok. It was served in a Guinness glass with a proper pour but the foam was spilled over the glass and had to clean it up. The second one I didn’t even snap a pic of. It was served in a tall skinny Pilsner glass.

Again, it’s a placed called Budweiser Brickhouse Tavern, so imagine my surprise when they had Guinness on draught. Ordered it out of curiosity. Of course terrible pour. But honestly, not bad. Was good enough to have 3 of them.

Man, started strong. Gorgeous looking pint. But downhill from there. Mouthfeel was thin. No real lacing. Bitter on the palate.

This was ordered as an experiment. Hotel lobby bar. One part pour. Regular pint glass. But honestly, still drinkable. Sort of shocked. I prepared for the worst.

Popped into this pub randomly on a visit to Ashford and was craving a pint in the middle of the day. As you can see, the glass wasn’t very clean, but the staff was very friendly and accommodating. It was drinkable and totally average.

In my opinion, this is about as perfect as a pint you will find in London. super cool pub that I visited late on a Monday evening that was packed to the gills with the after work crowd.

The rule of thumb with Guinness is, the more you pay, the worse it is. That holds true (not surprisingly) at Midway airport. The most average pint I’ve ever had. But had to try it.

Well, this isn’t your father’s Irish pub. Very modern and upscale decor, but the pint was served in a random beer glass. It’s supposed to be draft but I can’t find the tap. It tastes OK but all the normal appearances and pageantry is missing.

Super quaint pub in an old house. Lake Oswego is gorgeous. Pint was great. Tad too large of a head. But the pint was great. And the fish and chips was some of the best I’ve ever had!

Pint was so good I didn’t get a picture until I finished. Half hardware store, half pub.

Second best pint after Brownie’s across the street. It is inside a beautiful old bank building, but really attracts the after work happy hour crowd and can be quite loud.

This is the most authentic pub in Philly. Simple, one TV, no obnoxious music and just a bunch of geezers having a boozer.

They serve both 16 and 20 ounce pints. The pub is owned by a nice wee lass from Ireland. Some of the best Guinness, you will find in South Texas

This is NOT a pub. It’s a massive club that pretends to be a pub. After 9pm they serve Guinness in plastic cups. Passable if you’re near Fenway and want a Guinness. Otherwise there are a dozen better places in Boston.

This was a nice respite from the heat. Great pub, friendly Irish bartenders and creamy pints. Not a 5 simply because not a Guinness branded class.

So good I went back twice on my NYC trip! But they don't serve it in branded Guinness pint glasses.

Man this was one of my favorite pints in San Fran. The domeage wasn't quite there but tasted so good!

If you need Guinness, it'll do. Most of the time, if you come here a bit later (9pm+), it's strictly a college aged crowd and they will serve you Guinness in a plastic cup. I was fortunate enough to get a proper glass once or twice.

This was the Guinness Extra Cold on tap. You don't go to Islay to drink the Guinness, but it was a treat after having a dozen drams of whisky to finish the night with a nice pint.

Might have been because it was the first pint after 12 hours of being on a plane, but this hit in all the right places. Pub inside St Pancras station, so worth popping in for a pint.

Beautiful view in a tiny little town overlooking a historical church and fountain right on the town square. 5/5 for atmosphere, 4/5 for the pint.

It gets the job done. I think the Celt Irish Pub in downtown McKinney is better but this is still more than drinkable.

In my opinion, you will never get a 5/5 outside of Ireland. However, The Celt is one of the best I’ve had stateside, especially in Texas. Would highly recommend if you find yourself in McKinney, TX
