In downtown Enniskillen, Charlie’s and Blakes are best known for their Guinness. I prefer the vibe and pint here. Locals and barmen chatty. Run by the daughter now. It’s a gorgeous drink here. Not flashy. Just accurate.

Loaded with kitsch. They have a spot in Belfast too. This place is quiet during the day. Despite this, the pour was rushed and below the rim. Ice cold. Unexpectedly, a proper flavor. Weak finish. Slight lacing. Okay for one.

McIntyre’s Bar is the only afternoon pub in Dunkineely. They did up the front but it’s all original inside. On a nice day, a lot of outdoor space. In winter, a coal fire going. Great staff, locals, and a mythical type of Guinness. Beautiful flavor.

A sprawling place. Bar up front, restaurant in the back. Only ever been there for lunch, but the pints are passable. Sometimes nice pours, but results vary. Prototypical restaurant pints in Ireland: wash issues, maybe a dome, cold, etc. Food is okay.

A pint with lunch. The Guru liked it (not the town winner) but it’s too cold, lacks finesse, and finishes too clean. To me, this is an okay restaurant pour but the collar is a tell. They have 0.0 on tap, so there’s that.

Owen Roe O'Neill passed away in 2025. It’s now run by his family. His father, Frank, opened O'Neill's in 1929. Regulars just call it O'Neill‘s. A handsome, classic lounge. “No one talking over each other.” The pint is fitting: utter class. A wonder.

I’d heard good things about the Guinness but it wasn’t as deadly as the fish and chips. Dishwashing issue perhaps. Nothing on the glass. Flavor was off. An IPA would have been a better choice.
